A chance trip to South America was all it took for Hedie Howells to quit work as a perinatal psychologist and pursue a new-found passion for granola.

We love the new Adidas studio!  Husk & Honey have been running granola workshops here on Brick Lane, following training sessions by soul sisters fitness, kicking off with a delicious and refreshing bowl of our very own granola on a bed of yoghurt with fresh strawberries and flowers

. Part 1 was 'Build your granola' we chat with a nutritionist about various ingredients before adding them to a bag of gluten free oats. Everyone has a lush fresh mix of grains, seeds, nuts and spices by the end, ready to be mixed in with oil and honey and baked for a wonderful Sunday morning breakfast! Part 2, we planne...

Second Shot coffee is one of the social enterprises we work with when we have surplus granola. Second Shot is a great little coffee shop in Bethnal green, set up by Julius. We love this place - they have a pay it forward wall where you can buy an extra coffee or meal, draw it up on their white brick wall, and someone in need will be able to pop in and take that hot drink or meal. We are devoted to being responsible with our surplus granola, and are really pleased to be working with Second Shot - 'tackling homelessness with one espresso at a time'. Pay them a visit, try some of our surplus granola, thei...

We love zig zag tea! Developed by our friend Lucy Dolan, from East London - our favourite is the classic Coco Chai, and we were lucky to try this first batch under development of the Fennel Chai which was wonderfully aromatic and clear quality. We met months ago when we were both at the pop-up cafe in Chelsea run by Startisans. Zig Zag Teas recently did an awesome pop-up in Old Street station and continues stocking great places like Eat17 and Deenys. Check out the website and look out for the new branding and summer market pop-ups! http://www.zigzagteas.com/

As a small batch producer, we have great flexibility when it comes to creating something special for your events. The press day for the AW15 Jones collection was a while ago, and our first ever event. We ran a breakfast bar at St Christophers place with stylish pots which we designed and printed for their event. We created a bespoke Autumnal granola, served with honey and yoghurt (or a dairy-free option of maple stewed apple), topped with fresh pomegranate seeds.

If you have an event, get in touch at info@huskandhoney.co.uk and we'd be happy to chat about what we can do! We cater for all sort...

Shinola are a great leather works company based in Detroit with stores all over the world. We visited their store in Silver Lake, Los Angeles. We bought a beautifully made navy leather notebook which they embossed with personalised lettering. They opened a store in Soho, London, and we worked with them to create 'Shinola Granola' - mini pillow bags for their recent press day. Great project, super pleased to work with Shinola as personal fans of their quality leatherworks. Get in touch if you've an event you'd like to chat about. We love events!

We LOVE The Urban Cordial Company! London's tastiest answer to fruit waste. Started by our friend Natasha, Natasha drives down to various British fruit farms near the London borders to collect all the surplus fruit that her car can carry and brings them back to her military base kitchen where she presses them into delicious fruit cordials and bottles them up at site to preserve the quirky unique flavours. Our favourite is Raspberry and Rosemary, her best seller is Pear and Ginger, and check out her website for the full range of flavours. Available at Alexandra Palace Market, Brockley Market, and lots o...

Sourced Box have gone VEGAN! And who knew how many amazing vegan snacks they could get hold of for their ever changing discovery boxes. Honey isn't strictly vegan, so we created a bespoke 'vegan' blend just for them using Vermont Maple Syrup instead of our classic honey. We made this blend with our low calorie, high protein Quinoa & Buckwheat granola, which is also gluten free, and it was delicious! Less clumpy than usual but a great maple-y flavour. Their boxes are always filled with fun new snacks - order yours here: http://sourcedbox.com/ Thanks for having us, Max Head-Lee, Naomi Smart and the team...

We recently got shortlisted for Family Business of the Year Award! Husk & Honey granola was started by Hedie (right) and then joined by her sister Verity (left). It has been a wonderfully exciting journey for us, meeting some incredible people on the way after deciding to leave our jobs in medicine and banking, respectively. We've been joined by two cousins and had invaluable mentorship and input from family friends, and friend-friends! We couldn't be more grateful for the support on our journey so far. There are some other fantastic companies up for the Family Business Award (many much much bigger tha...
